Omani Man Offers Messi $1Million to Buy World Cup Final "Bisht"

The shot of the Argentine star Lionel Messi wearing the Qatari "bisht" during the coronation ceremony of the 2022 Qatar World Cup still dominates events and social media platforms and enjoys wide momentum in the Arab world and internationally.

In a unique offer, Ahmed Al Barwani, a member of the Omani Shura Council and former Vice President of the Lawyers Association, asked Argentine legend, Messi, to buy the bisht for $1 million.
Al-Barwani wrote through his account documented on Twitter @AhmedSAlbarwani: “My friend Messi. from the Sultanate of Oman, I congratulate you for winning the Qatar World Cup 2022. His Highness Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani impressed me when he dressed you in the Arab Bisht, a symbol of Arab magnanimity. Messi, I offer you a million dollars in exchange for giving me that bisht."
Messi's wearing of the bisht during the coronation ceremony also prompted the Argentine fans to flock to the shops selling the bisht in Souq Waqif, to buy the bisht, as a memorial to their country's coronation in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Social media pioneers shared videos showing a number of Argentine fans wearing "bisht" in Souq Waqif.
An Argentine fan said, wearing a bisht like Messi, "I think that Arabs wear it to look cool. It symbolizes pride and when a person wears it, he feels strong," while another said, "For us, the bisht will be a wonderful memory that will remain with us throughout our lives."
