Hilalah al Hamadani, an Omani poet who competed in the second edition of the "Million's Poet" competition in Abu Dhabi, passed unexpectedly early on Wednesday morning following a stroke after delivering a baby three days ago.
Her family has not released an official statement, and her Instagram and Twitter accounts have not been used since last year. However, other Omani poets and writers have paid tribute to the prominent member of the nation's cultural community on social media.
Poet Yusuf Alqasmi said, “May God have mercy on the poet Hilalah Al Hamadani. She will remain in the memory of the country and fans for a long time.”
“The Omani poetic scene lost this morning the star of Million's Poet, the poetess Hilalah Al Hamadani. Our sincere and sincere condolences to her family and relatives,” tweeted poet Yousif Almazroai.

Al Hamadani entered the Million's Poet competition in 2007 as the first female poet from Oman and the surrounding region.
