The national team of Oman brought back an excellent total of 14 medals from the 2023 Pan Arab Games in Algeria, which were completed on Saturday.
More than 3,800 participants from 22 Arab countries competed in 22 different sports at the competition, which began on July 5th.
The athletics team from Oman achieved outstanding success, winning six medals. Salem al Yarubi won the bronze medal in the long jump competition, while Mohammed al Saadi won silver in the 200-meter race. In the triple jump, he also came in third place.
The team won gold in the 4 X 100-meter relay. Fatik bin Abdel Ghafour Beit Jaboub won gold in the high jump while national sprint sensation Barakat al Harthy took home bronze in the 100-meter race.
Qusai al Rawahi made his Arab Games debut in the sports for athletes with disabilities by winning a silver medal in the 100-meter race and setting a new personal best.
Amer al Khanjari increased the already excellent total in weightlifting by winning a gold medal in the jerk and a bronze in the snatch.
With one gold, two silvers, a bronze, and a team gold in the Optimist class, the Oman Sailing team also left its imprint in Algeria, demonstrating its exceptional performance.
