The Sultanate of Oman received the certificate for listing Al Khanjar (Omani dagger) in UNESCO's list of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay received, on Wednesday, Oman's Permanent Representative to UNESCO Dr. Hammad Saif Al Hammami, in Paris to present the certificate for the listing.
Oman's Ministry of Sports, Culture, and Youth in collaboration with the Omani National Commission for Education, Science and Culture and the Office of Permanent Representative to UNESCO included Al Khanjar in the UNESCO list during the 17th session of intergovernmental committee for safeguarding intangible cultural heritage, which was held in Morocco in December 2022.
