Oman is gearing up for the launch of Safari World, the country's largest zoo, located in Ibra, North Sharqiyah. Scheduled to open its doors on the second day of Eid al Fitr, Safari World promises a remarkable experience for visitors, showcasing a diverse collection of over 300 animals across 120,000 square meters of the zoo's sprawling 286,000-square-meter area.
Attractions and Education
Beyond animal exhibits, Safari World offers entertainment with its water park and family activity areas. Director Khalfan bin Said al Maamari emphasizes the educational aspect, aiming to raise awareness about wildlife conservation, especially among school children.
A Decade in the Making
The journey to establish Safari World has been long, spanning ten years of meticulous planning and execution. Inspired by his father's vision, Maamari overcame logistical challenges to create natural habitats for the zoo's diverse range of animals.
Future Plans
Looking ahead, Safari World plans to expand its offerings, introducing more exotic species and enhancing attractions in its second phase. The goal is to create a comprehensive "safari world" representing ecosystems from various regions, solidifying Oman's position as a top tourism destination.
