Oman's tourism sector is flourishing, showing a 26.3% growth in revenue, reaching OMR 138.38 million ($359.43 million) by August 2023.

The National Centre for Statistics and Information reports that the number of luxury hotel guests surged by 26.7% to 1.28 million within a year. Notably, European and Asian tourists visiting Oman increased by 44%, while guests from Oceania rose by 229%.

Oman's government recently approved 19 integrated tourism complex projects worth OMR4.38 billion to boost the industry further.

Stemming from a 2016 strategy, Oman aims to uplift the number of annual tourists to 11.7 million by 2040, up from 2.6 million in 2015.

Oman seeks to raise tourism's contribution to GDP from 2.6% to 6%. A dedicated OMR20 billion fund backs this program as part of Oman's Vision 2040 economic plan.
