The Muscat Flower Festival has transformed Qurum Natural Park into a breathtaking garden of over one million flowers sourced from 20 countries, including the USA, the Netherlands, Kenya, Malaysia, and South America. This vibrant showcase is part of the larger Muscat Nights Festival, offering a unique blend of natural beauty and artistic design.
Inauguration and Festival Timeline
Inaugurated on December 23, 2024, by Ahmed Al Humaidi, Chairman of Muscat Municipality, the festival runs until January 21, 2025. Visitors can enjoy the colorful displays daily from 4:00 PM to midnight, making it a must-visit event for both locals and tourists.
Global and Local Collaboration
The floral designs result from a collaboration between international experts and Omani designers. The Muscat Municipality partnered with Pico Group, a renowned Singaporean company, to bring world-class floral arrangements to life. Omani designer Madhavi Khimji also contributed her expertise, adding a local touch to the event.
“We are proud to curate this showcase that celebrates Muscat’s natural beauty and vibrant community,” said Barnabas Chia, Project Director of Pico Group.
Supporting Local Businesses
The festival is not just about flowers; it’s also a platform for community engagement. Over 50 local SMEs specializing in flowers are participating, highlighting the Municipality’s efforts to support local businesses and boost the event’s cultural and economic impact.
More Than Just Flowers
The Muscat Flower Festival is part of the broader Muscat Nights Festival, which offers attractions at multiple venues, including Al Naseem Public Park, Al Amerat Public Park, Seeb Beach, and the Oman Automobile Association grounds. Visitors can explore a variety of activities, making the festival a comprehensive celebration of Muscat’s culture and community spirit.
A Celebration of Oman’s Identity
Reflecting on the festival’s significance, designer Madhavi Khimji shared, “This event embodies the spirit of Oman and its rich tradition of hospitality.”
