Oman's Minister of Heritage and Tourism, Salim Mohammed al Mahrouqi, has announced ambitious plans to introduce more than 40 new hotels in the country over the next two years.

Inauguration of Mandarin Oriental Muscat

The unveiling of Mandarin Oriental Muscat marked a significant moment in Oman's tourism sector. Nicolas Dubort, General Manager of Mandarin Oriental Muscat, expressed his enthusiasm for introducing the beachfront resort to both the local community and the international tourism market. 

Luxury Offering of Mandarin Oriental Muscat

Situated in Shatti al Qurum, Mandarin Oriental Muscat features 103 rooms, 47 suites, and a range of facilities and event spaces. Designed by renowned French interior designer Xavier Cartron, the hotel boasts an elegant ambiance that captures the essence of Muscat. Notably, the hotel's architecture incorporates elements inspired by Oman's natural beauty, utilizing locally sourced materials to showcase the country's rich heritage.

During the inauguration, Mahrouqi emphasized the importance of upcoming hospitality projects, noting their crucial role in broader developments planned for this and next year.

"Oman is dedicated to expanding its tourism infrastructure, with plans to open 40 to 47 hotels, along with resorts and guest houses," he stated.
