Over One Million Passengers Received at Muscat Airport in January 2023

Muscat International Airport experienced a rise in passenger traffic, which crossed the one million mark for both international and domestic passengers in January 2023.
According to recent data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the outbound and inbound international and domestic flights through Muscat International Aiport reached 143%, which amounts to 7,687 flights that carried 1,051,390 passengers, by the end of January 2023.
The NCSI statistics also revealed that the number of outbound and inbound international flights through Muscat International Airport, Salalah, Sohar, and Duqm reached 8,537 flights by the end of January 2023.
The number of arrivals through the airports of the Sultanate increased by 94% and the number of departures increased by 115% at the end of January 2023, compared to the same period in 2022.
The total number of passengers from arrivals, departures, and transit at the airports of Muscat, Salalah, Sohar, and Duqm amounted to 1,165,556 at the end of January 2023.
Indian passengers topped the list of the nationalities that crossed through the Muscat International Airport with a total of 151,087 passengers, followed by Bangladeshi nationals with a total of 52,016 passengers, and Pakistani nationals with a total of 39,762 passengers.
