Owners of Unattended Vehicles in Oman to Receive Big Fines

The Muscat Governate is increasing its crackdown on vehicles that have been abandoned on the streets of the city.
Owners of vehicles that have been left unattended for long periods of time will receive fines ranging from OR 200 to OR 1,000.
The owners of these cars will be fined OR 5 per day until the vehicles remain in the impounded site.
The Municipality shared that they have placed warning notice stickers on the abandoned cars after closely monitoring them. If no action is taken within the period of 14 days, then these vehicles will be towed away.
The Municipality explained that its increasing crackdown on unattended vehicles has been done in an effort of improving the city's urban appearance, safety, and security. They also aim to reduce pollution with this action.
The Municipality had started the campaign by towing away 66 vehicles and posting 167 warning stickers on abandoned vehicles in many wilayats of Muscat.
