Hajj, an annual Islamic pilgrimage, holds significance for Muslim adults, mandated at least once in their lifetime for those who are physically and financially capable. Traditionally a massive religious gathering, it involves prayers and rituals performed in the sacred city of Makkah.
This year's policy change includes Saudi Arabia restoring Pakistan's pre-coronavirus Hajj quota of 179,210 pilgrims, while also lifting the upper age limit of 65 years for participation. To further ease financial burdens, negotiations with airlines aim to decrease Hajj flight fares, and any savings will be directly deposited into pilgrims' accounts.
