Dubai is now a global destination and those who live in Dubai are the envy of many. However, if you plan to visit Dubai during the summer, be prepared for the following:
Heat and Humidity!
It is common to see the thermometer reading at 50 Centigrade, equivalent to 122 Fahrenheit. Be prepared and always pack liquids with you. Once in a while, you may see someone driving his convertible with the top-down.
Malls
This is the place where everyone runs to. Malls and shopping centers are the best refuge. . You can ski and skate in Dubai! Air-conditioned, entertaining, clean and a place to hangout
Shopping Festivals
Yes, it is the Dubai Summer Festival (DSF). You can get amazing deals on all types of goods include luxury brands. Just bring your cash or credit card and you won’t regret it! There is always a good bargain in Dubai
Beaches!
Well there are few people that can dare to sun bathes. It is really not advisable but if you insist on getting your tan, the beaches are open but your feet will pay the price!
Traffic!
That’s one thing you will see less of. During the summer most expats go back home, no schools and traffic becomes a joy, for once. Sheikh Zayed Road, Jumeriah Beach Road and other roads are wide open.
Restaurants
You won’t have a problem choosing the food you want to eat. Whatever you feel like eating, you can have. From the public kitchen outlets to the fast food and fancy restaurants.
Oh, one last thing,
If you wear glasses like I do, be prepared for the endless misery of fogged up glasses. After a while, you will get used to it and it becomes a second nature.
