At the first-ever World Cup in the region, the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, 1.5 million guests are expected.

According to a Monday announcement from Geneva-based MSC Cruises, World Cup organizers in Qatar have chartered a third cruise ship to serve as a floating hotel for visitors to the Gulf nation for the 2019 World Cup.

For the more than 1 million tourists who are anticipated to swarm to Qatar for the biggest athletic event in the world, the arrangement adds much-needed lodgings.

It happens six weeks before the opening match between Qatar and Ecuador at the Al Bayt stadium on November 20.

According to the Associated Press (AP), the 1,075-cabin MSC Opera will be accessible from November 19 to December 19.

On Monday, the MSC website published the cost of the Opera, with a two-night minimum stay starting at QR 1710 per person per night during the group stage.

As the World Cup approaches, reports state that Qatar has added thousands more hotel rooms.

The cost of lodging on board the cruise ships drops as the competition progresses and half of the teams depart. During the Round of 16 and quarterfinals, the least expensive accommodations aboard the MSC Opera cost QR 1310; during the final week, they cost QR 800.

During the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, two other enormous cruise ships will also double as floating hotels. Both of these ships are scheduled to arrive at Doha Port on November 10 and 14, according to announcements made by Qatari officials in August.

With 4,000 rooms total, the two cruise ships can hold up to 9,400 passengers. The hotels aboard the cruise ships will provide a range of cabin choices, including conventional and ocean-view cabins, balcony cabins, and opulent suites.

The opulent flagship MSC World Europa, which was constructed in France, will start sailing during the World Cup.

Dubai develops "fan zones" in anticipation of the 2022 World Cup.

Breakfast is provided on board as part of the basic rates, and all other meals can be purchased for a daily addition of QR 316. According to reports, alcohol will also be sold on board.

According to sources, some soccer fans plan to spend a fortune on superyachts in Dubai that cost $20,000 a night to watch the eagerly awaited World Cup matches while cruising in the Arabian Gulf.

According to the Dubai Sports Council, a million World Cup fans are anticipated in Dubai. Qatar also projects a similar amount.

In anticipation of the crowds, the neighboring emirate has designated fan zones at parks, beaches, and the financial area, and hotels are offering discounts.

Cruise ships were suggested as a potential solution for a shortage of hotel rooms in Rio de Janeiro prior to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. In the end, the organizers decided against hiring them because just seven of the 64 games were held in the city.

However, while Rio was hosting the 2016 Summer Olympics, the American basketball teams did board a cruise ship docked there. Olympic competitors were housed on a separate ship.
