The Syrian Ministry of Transport announced the resumption of direct flights between Damascus and Dubai and Sharjah in the UAE, starting from June 20th.
Syrian Airlines announced that the first flights will be towards Sharjah International Airport and added that "Syrian Air" is scheduled to operate three flights per week to Sharjah and 4 flights per week towards Dubai.

The first flights of Syrian Airlines crossed to Cairo in early October last year, after stopping for months due to the pandemic.
UAE along with Iraq and Oman, was one of the first Arab countries to announce the resumption of its flights to Syria following the ongoing crisis in Syria for more than ten years.
