Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan was discharged from Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai, India on Tuesday, Jan. 21 where he underwent surgery after he was stabbed last week.
Khan was accompanied by his wife, Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, as the couple left the hospital for their home in Bandra.
The actor spent five days at the hospital after undergoing the surgery to treat his injuries. The doctors have said that the star is out of danger and is recovering.
Khan was stabbed multiple times by an intruder at his home in Bandra on Thursday, Jan. 16. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital and underwent a five-hour surgery on the same day.
On Sunday, Jan. 19, the police arrested the 30-year-old accused, identified as Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, who had changed his name to Vijay Das.
Fakir was remanded in police custody for five days on Sunday. The police revealed that the accused entered the residential building with the intent of burglary.
The accused maintains that he did not know who Khan was and only targeted his home because he believed that he belonged to someone rich.
