The UAE government has set strict traffic rules to ensure the safety of drivers and pedestrians, and to oblige them to follow these rules, some fines have been imposed in case of violation. Here are the most common parking violations in the UAE.
Improper Parking
Commit to giving priority to the one whose turn it is within the line, if you trespass on someone else's place, you can be fined AED 500.
Pavement Parking
Parking on the sidewalk is prohibited even if you spend a lot of time to find a parking lot and can result in a fine of AED 400.
Blocking a Vehicle
No matter how difficult it is to find a parking space for your car, do not block any other vehicle, this will result in a fine of AED 500.
Parking at a Bus Stop
Bus stops are for buses, therefore, if you cause traffic obstruction and passengers delay, you will incur a fine of AED 2,000 according to the ITC in Abu Dhabi.
Blocking a Fire Hydrant
You must not block the empty spaces next to the fire hydrant marked with a “no parking area” so that the public can use the hydrant in case of a fire, otherwise, you will be fined AED 1,000.
Parking in a Space Designated for People of Determination
These spaces are reserved near the entrances for those who really need to use them. If you do not have a permit to park your car here, you will be fined AED 1,000. If your permit is expired or if you use a permit that is not under your name, you will be fined AED 1,000.
