The beach has been subject to rising water levels that have caused excessive soil erosion, making it inconvenient for beach lovers and families to spend time at this beach.
Taking these developments into consideration, the Muscat Municipality has started a project at Al Qurum Beach, which involves creating protection for the slopes using metal panels, reinforced concrete, and gravel lined with cement.
The project will also include the construction of a walkway with a width of 1.5 m, which will be built along the protections. The overall project is expected to conclude by the end of 2023.
