Sultan Haitham Pardons Over 200 Prisoners for Eid Al Adha
Sultan Haitham bin Tarik pardoned over 200 prisoners in Oman on the occasion of Eid Al Adha.
According to the statement released, Sultan Haitham has pardoned 217 prisoners for Eid Al Adha, which included 101 foreign inmates convicted for various cases.
The Sultan made this decision because of the joyous occasion of Eid and in consideration of the inmates' families.
Sultan Haitham had also ordered the release of 198 prisoners, including 89 expatriates, ahead of Eid Al Fitr.
Over 300 prisoners were released in Sultanate during the first week of Ramadan for the 'Fak Kurbah' Initiative.
