The Frankincense Season Will Begin in Dhofar on This Date
The frankincense season is set to run in the Dhofar Governate from Dec. 2 to Dec. 9.
Frankincense Season Locations
The program for the week-long event will be hosted at three frankincense sites, which are on the World Heritage Committee’s list under the name “Land of Frankincense Sites”.
These frankincense sites are:
- Al Baleed Archaeological Park
- Sumharam Archaeological Park
- Wadi Doka Natural Reserve
The Frankincense Program in Dhofar
The program will include exhibitions of frankincense-based perfumes and products from household industries, specialized companies, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and entrepreneurial projects by university students.
The frankincense season program will also include various outdoor activities such as:
- Trips on pleasure boats
- Kayaking
- Camel rides
- Live frankincense extraction shows
