Oman has announced Thursday, Feb. 8 as the Isra and Mi'raj holiday for the public and private sectors in the Sultanate.
The Isra and Mi'raj holiday has been announced for the State’s Administrative Apparatus units, other legal entities, and private sector institutions.
The holiday will give government and private sector employees a long, three-day weekend to relax and enjoy fun and exciting activities.
It was already known when the Isra and Mi'raj holiday would fall in Oman however, the official announcement about the holiday for both the public and private sectors was made on Thursday, Feb. 1.
Previously, the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs confirmed the start of the Islamic month Rajab with the celestial sighting, which helped determine that Isra and Mi'raj would fall on Feb. 8.
People in Oman can use the long weekend to visit popular cultural landmarks in Oman or take a luxurious retreat at Oman's famous hotels!
