Inviting Bids for Hosting Rights
The Zurich-based foundation has called on Arab countries to bid for the rights to host this exciting campaign, expected to kick off by summer 2025. The campaign aims to showcase remarkable structures that reflect the rich cultural heritage of the region.
Potential Wonders from the GCC
Among the sites likely to be included are iconic landmarks such as the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the World Trade Centre in Bahrain, Riyadh's King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center, and the Museum of Islamic Art in Qatar, designed by renowned architect I.M. Pei. These modern marvels will be recognized alongside ancient sites like AlUla in Saudi Arabia, the Old City of Sanaa in Yemen, and the Samarra Tower in Iraq.
Economic Potential of the Campaign
The event has the potential to create over $1 billion in tourism and related revenue for the host nation. Weber's previous campaigns have successfully driven tourism and national pride, leading to significant restoration projects in several countries.
