Three restaurants from Saudi Arabia have been named in the Middle East and North Africa's 50 Best Restaurants List for 2023 at the awards gala that took place in Abu Dhabi on Monday night.
Riyadh-based Myazu Restaurant, which offers contemporary Japanese cuisine, won best restaurant in Saudi Arabia after coming in 18th overall on the list.
“Under the leadership of chef Ian Pengelley, (Myazu) is a spot where harmony reigns in texture, aromas and flavors. Some dishes push the envelope of gastronomic craftsmanship while others focus on Japanese fan favorites, but all are set apart by a sophisticated presentation that has become part of this restaurant’s DNA," the restaurant said in a statement.
Popular burger joint, Marble restaurant, came 23rd place overall and second best in Saudi. Saudi chef-owner Abdulrahman Alsowailem took Marble from a humble and small establishment with four items on its menu, to one of Riyadh and the region's most loved restaurants.
LPM rounded up the Saudi-based restaurants in the 50 Best list by coming in 38th place. The French -inspired restaurant opened in Riyadh in 2021.
Dubai-based Orfali Bros Bistro was named best restaurant in MENA , in the second edition of the top restaurants list, which is chosen by a panel of 250 anonymous voters, who can select seven restaurants each from across the region.
The 2023 list had 15 new restaurant entries and featured restaurants from 14 cities from across Middle East and North Africa.
