Thunderstorms have continued to affect Al Hajar mountains and the adjoining areas for the third day in a row, Oman Meteorology said in its latest weather forecast.
The thunderstorms, which are associated with fresh downdraft winds and hail, will affect mountainous areas of South Al Batinah, Al Dakhiliyah, Al Dhahirah, Al Buraimi and South Al Sharqiyah Governorate.
Oman Meteorology added that rainfall will range between 10-30mm, and downdraft wind of 15-35 knots, associated with hail.
Poor horizontal visibility due to duststorms during thundershower and flash floods (wadis) are also expected, it added.
Oman Meteorology has urged people to stay away from low places and wadis and to not attempt to swim in wadis.
It also recommended not to risk crossing wadis and to keep an eye on children and never allow them to approach wadis.
