With the anticipated addition of a resort in Oman, Minor Hotels is extending the Middle East reach of its Tivoli Hotels & Resorts brand.
The 180-key Tivoli Muscat Hotel & Residences, which will open in 2026, will start construction in the Omani capital later this year.
Mixed-use space
The newly constructed property will be situated in La Vie, Muscat Hills, a renowned mixed-use neighbourhood conveniently situated about 10 minutes by car from Muscat International Airport.
The property will overlook the reopened 18-hole golf course maintained by Troon Golf and include an 80-key hotel and 100 branded homes. It will also have a Toptracer facility, the first in Oman and the fourth in the region. Many ministries, the Oman Automobile Association, and the upcoming Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre are all nearby.
530 hotels and resorts are currently part of Minor Hotels' historic portfolio, which is spread throughout 56 countries in Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Europe, the Americas, Africa, and the Indian Ocean.
History of the company's Tivoli brand begins in 1933 in Lisbon, Portugal. With a present portfolio of 16 properties, the strand has spread from Portugal to Brazil, from Qatar to China, and from the Netherlands.
What's next?
With the acquisition of this new hotel, the line will continue to grow in the Middle East, where Minor Hotels now manages three Tivoli locations in Qatar and is currently building a fourth new facility in Bahrain that will open in 2024.
The brand also debuted in Asia in 2022 with the opening of Tivoli Chengdu in China's Cultural Heritage Park, and this year it is extending its reach in Europe with the addition of properties in The Netherlands, Portugal, and Tenerife, Spain.
