Oman Water and Wastewater services Company (OWWSC) clarified rumors regarding water distribution network disruption due to a mountain collapse in the Wilayat of Al Amerat. Residents of the wilayat took to social media to share their concerns. However, OWWSC confirmed that the water distribution network was not affected.

The OWWSC said in a statement, “Referring to what was circulated on social media about the mountain collapse in the Wilayat of Al Amerat and the impact of the water distribution network in the state as a result of this collapse, the Omani Company for Water and Wastewater Services explains that it has taken all measures to ensure that subscribers in the state are not affected. An alternative line has been activated from the state of Baushar to supply the affected areas with water… In addition, the company is working to address the damages in the network and ensure the continuity of water supply to subscribers.”
The company called on subscribers to rationalise water consumption and not pay attention to rumours and take information from its official source.
