Oman's Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued a weather alert after heavy thundershowers were forecasted in various areas across Oman on Friday, Oct. 27.
The downpours are forecasted in the governorates of Musandam, North Al Batinah, Al Buraimi, Al Dhahira, South Al Batinah, Al Dakhiliyah, Muscat, North Al Sharqiyah, and South Al Sharqiyah.
Various northern areas across the Sultanate witnessed heavy rainfall on Thursday, Oct 26 after the meteorology department had forecasted the terrible weather conditions.
The forecasted downpours are expected to cause flash floods and the CAA has also warned people of hail, strong downdrafts wind, and poor visibility caused by dust storms.
People in Oman are advised to avoid low-lying areas and wadis.
During this rainy weather, people are strongly advised to avoid any water activities like sailing.
Motorists are also advised to be very cautious while driving during this weather in order to avoid accidents.
