Each country has its’ own rules for traffic. One of the most important ones is not seating a child in the front seat while driving in Saudi Arabia because in case a terrible accident occurs, the child, even if wearing a seatbelt might get thrown out of the window, or the smashing glass might give him dangerous wounds, so it is illegal to seat a child in the front seat of a car in Saudi Arabia.
How much is the fine for violation of seating a child in the front car seat in KSA?
Seating a child in the front rows who are under the age of 10 would induce these fines:
● Children under 10 sitting in the front seat would induce a fine between 300 Sar - 500 Sar on the driver.
● Additional 150 Sar - 300 Sar for the child not wearing a seatbelt.
● This fine is imposed even if the child was sitting in another persons’ lap, not on his own.
● This fine does not apply to cars with only front row seats without back seats.
How is it detected?
There are traffic cameras installed all over the country. Any mobile use or seatbelt violation or seating a child in the front is caught by those cameras where the breach is issued in an automated process.
