Eleven New Hospitals Being Built in Oman to Meet Population Demands

The Ministry of Health has started a project to build 11 hospitals in various wilayats and governates in Oman. The project aims to enhance the development of the country's health sector and to benefit the growing population of the country. 

The hospitals that are under construction and are part of this project include Al Suwaiq Hospital in North Al Batinah Governorate (to be completed in 2024), the Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Dhofar Governate (2025), and the Khasab Hospital in Musandam Governorate (to open in 2024). 

The project also includes upgrading health centres to full-fledged hospitals, which include the Mad’ha Health Centre in Musandam Governorate (to open in 2023) and the Thamrait Health Centre (to be completed in 2023).

The designs and layout of three new hospitals are also being finalized, which include the new Samayil Hospital in Al-Dakhiliyah Governorate, Al Nama Hospital in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate and Al Falah Hospital in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate.

Preparations are being made to set up the Mahour Hospital in Al Wusta Governate, which is scheduled to open in 2025.
