How Long Will Eid Al Fitr Holidays Be in Oman?

Excitement is building in Oman as citizens and residents await confirmation of their Eid Al Fitr holiday break—and it could be longer than expected! Depending on the Moon sighting on March 29 (Ramadan 29), Omanis could enjoy either a 5-day or a 9-day break.

If the crescent Moon is spotted that night, Ramadan will end after 29 days, and the official Eid holidays will run from March 30 to April 1 (Sunday to Tuesday). With the preceding weekend, that means a 5-day break, and work will resume on April 2 (Wednesday).

But if the Moon remains unseen, Ramadan will extend to 30 days, adding Sunday, March 30, as a holiday, and pushing the Eid break until Wednesday, April 2. If Thursday, April 3, is also given as a holiday, combined with the weekends, Omanis could enjoy a 9-day break—a perfect chance to travel, relax, and celebrate Eid with loved ones.

The official announcement will come after the Moon-sighting committee meets on March 29, so stay tuned for updates!
