It's Official! Saudi Arabia to Host the 2034 FIFA World Cup

The news was revealed at the FIFA Congress meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 11. The country will be the second Middle Eastern country to host the World Cup after Qatar, which hosted the 2022 World Cup.

Saudi Arabia had submitted their bid in October 2023. Their bidding campaign's slogan is “Growing. Together” and reveals that the World Cup matches will be hosted across 15 stadiums in five host cities.

The cities will be Riyadh, Jeddah, Khobar, Abha, and NEOM. Eight proposed stadiums will be in Riyadh, four in Jeddah and one in Abha, NEOM and al-Khobar each.

Riyadh's King Salman Stadium will be the host of the opening and closing matches of the tournament.

Saudi Arabia has been chosen to host the 2027 Asian Football Cup and the 2029 Asian Winter Games as well.
