Oman Launches Initiative to Support Laid-Off Workers

The Ministry of Labour in Oman, in partnership with the Oman Energy Association (OPAL), has introduced a new initiative aimed at helping Omani workers who have recently lost their jobs. This program seeks to provide valuable training and job placements, primarily focusing on roles as tractor-trailer drivers within various private sector companies across the country.

This initiative not only offers a path for laid-off workers to find new employment but also serves as part of Oman’s larger efforts to strengthen its workforce and boost employment opportunities. By encouraging private sector involvement, the initiative aims to create sustainable job openings that support the local economy and provide long-term career paths for affected individuals.

This collaboration reflects a commitment to workforce resilience, equipping Omanis with the skills needed to transition smoothly into new roles while meeting the demands of private sector industries.
