Dakhliyah is gearing up to enhance its local economy and tourism with the launch of 11 new investment projects. These initiatives will center around the development of Nizwa Public Park and the construction of a 60-meter Ferris wheel, named the Nizwa Eye, along Dakhliyah Boulevard.

Exciting New Attractions

The governorate is now inviting bids for multiple recreational projects at Nizwa Park and Dakhliyah Boulevard. Key features of the plan include:

- Sports Area: A large space covering 12,924 square meters.

- Skating Area: A designated area of 1,558 square meters.

- Natural Sand Play Area: Spanning 2,068 square meters.

- Zipline: A thrilling 235-meter ride.

- Ferris Wheel: Occupying 260 square meters.

Additionally, the projects will include a trampoline area of 964 square meters, equestrian sports facilities over 2,785 square meters, go-kart tracks covering 1,688 square meters, and an electronic games area spanning 1,960 square meters. The investment timelines for these projects will range from five to 25 years.

Expected Benefits

Officials believe these new projects will significantly develop Dakhliyah, create job opportunities, and attract more domestic tourists. The deadline for submitting bids is set for November 28, 2024.

Tourism Highlights

Dakhliyah is known for its stunning tourist destinations, including Nizwa, Jabal Akhdar, and Jabal Shams. Jabal Shams is the highest peak in the Western Hajar Mountains, standing nearly 3,000 meters above sea level. Nizwa is particularly popular for its historic fort and vibrant souq, famous for traditional handicrafts and silverwork.

Jabal Akhdar attracts both regional and international visitors, thanks to its pleasant climate and breathtaking views. Notably, over 84,800 tourists visited Dakhliyah in the first half of 2024, marking a 7.37% increase compared to 79,000 visitors during the same period last year.
