Oman Air's aircraft (WY 2435) from Muscat to Iranian Shiraz was damaged upon landing at Shiraz International Airport on Monday due to runway debris, requiring it to be grounded, the Sultanate of Oman's national carrier confirmed.
"Following the damage, an engineering team has been flown to bring back the flight safely to Muscat," Oman Air said on Twitter.
It added: "The flights, WY2435 and WY2436, are chartered flights and since Oman Air doesn’t operate scheduled flights to Shiraz, no airport staff is positioned there.
