- The crescent is expected to be two degrees above the horizon with an illumination intensity of 0.4%, making it difficult to spot.
- Similar conditions are predicted across Oman, with slight variations. In Salalah, for example, the crescent is expected to set five minutes after sunset with an illumination of 0.5%.
The National Crescent Observation Committee will convene on the night of March 29, 2025, to confirm the sighting using both astronomical calculations and regional observations. A final announcement regarding Eid Al Fitr’s official date will follow the committee’s verification process.
