Orry & 7 Others Booked for Drinking Near Vaishno Devi Shrine

Bollywood socialite and influencer Orhan 'Orry' Awatramani, along with seven others, has been booked by Jammu and Kashmir Police for allegedly consuming alcohol at a hotel in Katra, the base camp for the revered Vaishno Devi shrine.
The incident reportedly took place on Mar. 15, when local authorities received a complaint about guests consuming alcohol on hotel premises where such activities are strictly prohibited due to the area's religious significance. The other individuals named in the First Information Report (FIR) include Darshan Singh, Parth Raina, Ritick Singh, Rashi Dutta, Rakshita Bhogal, Shagun Kohli, and Russian national Anastasila Arzamaskina.
Katra, officially declared a holy town, enforces strict bans on the sale, possession, and consumption of alcohol and non-vegetarian food to maintain the sanctity of the pilgrimage site. Senior Superintendent of Police, Reasi, Paramvir Singh, emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards such violations, stating that those who disrespect the law and religious sentiments will be dealt with sternly.
The police have formed a special team to investigate the matter thoroughly. Notices will be issued to all accused individuals, instructing them to cooperate with the investigation. Authorities have reiterated that any activities involving alcohol or drugs at religious sites will not be tolerated and will be met with strict legal action.
