Shows Coming to the Royal Opera House This October

The Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) continues to be a hub for world-class performances, bringing the finest in music, theater, and dance to Oman. In October 2024, the venue will host an array of spectacular shows that promise to captivate audiences with their diversity and artistic excellence. Whether you're a fan of classical music, ballet, or opera, the lineup this month will surely offer something for everyone.

Oct. 3 & Oct. 5: Un Ballon in Maschera

Un Ballon in Maschera is an opera of the Verdi masterpiece by the National Theatre of Performing Arts in Beijing. Giampaolo Bisanti will conduct the Orchestra of Teatro Lirico di Cagliari for the opera and Hugo de Ana has directed the play. 

The opera title translates to 'The Masked Ball' and is about a love triangle formed during a grand party at court. The play features Elena Stikhina, Piotr Beczala, LIAO Chaoyong, and Agnieszka Rehlis.

The opera will begin at 7:00 p.m. on both nights.

This musical night will feature the internationally reputed composer Zhao Jiping. There will also be a performance from Liao Changyong, the rising soprano Zhang Meigui, and bass Guan Zhijing who will be accompanied by the the NCPA Choir and Teatro Lirico di Cagliari Orchestra, directed by the NCPA's Artistic Director of Music Lü Jia.

Oct. 17: Omani Women's Day Concert

Enjoy a magnificent concert celebrating Omani women, featuring performances from Al Nour Wal Amal (Light and Hope) Ladies’ Orchestra (the orchestra features blind musicians), Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra Ladies’ Ensemble, Majida El Roumi, and Nour Ayadi. 

The concert will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Oct. 18-19: Majida Al Roumi

The 'Angel of Tarab' and 'Star of Peace', Majid Al Roumi, will also have two solo performances, featuring beautiful songs about humanity and patriotism and most hit songs. 

The concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. on both nights. 

Oct. 21: Absolute Music, feat. Joyce El-Khoury

Enjoy the mesmerizing voice of Joyce El-Khoury, the music of Serouj Kradjian, and a Lebanese ensemble performing Scheherazade. Enjoy a magical night filled with beautiful melodies, poetry, and lyrics. 

The concert will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Oct. 30-31: Gate of the Moon Concert, feat. Nishat Khan

The concert will feature the magic of Indian classical music by maestro Nishat Khan and the European Philharmonia, conducted by Walter Proost.
