Tesla Cybertruck Explodes Outside of the Trump Hotel

A Tesla Cybertruck exploded outside of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday, Jan. 1.

The driver of the Cybertruck was killed and seven individuals nearby were injured. The explosion was caused by the detonation of a combination of fireworks, gas tanks, and camping fuel in the bed of the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle detonated the explosives with a device. Fortunately, the vehicle's construction helped contain the blast otherwise the consequences would have been worse.

The explosion was similar to the vehicle attack in New Orleans on the same day because both incidents included a truck rented from the Turo website and a symbolic target on New Year's Day.

Although authorities are investigating the link between the two attacks, they are calling the Vegas attack an 'isolated incident'.

The law enforcement officials familiar with the investigation suspect that the driver had a background in military service.

The police have confirmed that they know who rented the truck, but they have not revealed the name of the individual until they can verify the person's identity.
