This Man in Oman Received a Royal Honor for his Work in Al Sharqiyah

The Omani volunteer Saeed bin Hamdan received the Order of Commendation from His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.

Hamdan had supervised the construction of a road that helped connect two villages in the mountains, which is why he received the royal honor.

The project started when Saeed brought an excavator and used a cudgel to build the road between the two villages.

He succeeded in building a link road that shortened the 200 kilometres between the two villages of Halut in South Al Sharqiyah Governate and Al Oud in North Al Sharqiyah Governate to 10 kilometres.

The road has reduced the travel time for motorists between the two villages from more than three hours to thirty minutes!

Saeed bin Hamdan truly overcame all obstacles to complete this project and make travel more convenient for the people of these villages.

The Omani volunteer has also worked on other initiatives including digging water wells in mountainous villages and construction of a 26-kilometer-shortcut and internal cemented roads in the Tiwi and Sabiyat mountains.

He has completed the digging of one well and the development of some other wells is still in progress.

With all these initiatives, Saeed bin Hamdan has become a source of inspiration for many Omani youth!
