Oman Makes Vaccination Mandatory for Umrah Pilgrims

The Ministry of Health in Oman has introduced a vaccination requirement for citizens and residents planning to perform Umrah. Pilgrims must receive the Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine (ACYW135) as mandated by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s health regulations.

To comply, individuals must obtain an official vaccination certificate via Oman’s Tarassud system. This document, valid for five years, must be issued at least ten days before traveling to Saudi Arabia.

The vaccine is available at primary healthcare centers across Oman’s governorates. Additionally, expatriates and residents can receive the vaccination at private healthcare institutions designated by the Health Ministry.

For added protection, the ministry also recommends a single dose of the seasonal flu vaccine before departure. Both measures aim to minimize the risk of infections during the pilgrimage and ensure the safety of the public.

These steps underscore the Health Ministry’s commitment to safeguarding the well-being of Umrah pilgrims while aligning with Saudi Arabia’s health guidelines.
