Beignets

312 g All Purpose Flour
2 tsp baking powder
100 g granulated sugar
1 tsp nutmeg powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup milk
3 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
115 g melted butter
Oil for deep frying
Icing sugar for serving

  1. Prepare Dry Ingredients

    In a mixing bowl, mix all the dry ingredients together till well combined.
  2. Combine Wet Ingredients

    Once mixed, add in the wet ingredients and mix until you get a smooth batter.
  3. Heat Oil

    In a deep pan, heat up the oil till slight bubbles are formed.
  4. Fry Batter

    Take the batter by a spoon and plop it in the oil carefully.
  5. Flip Beignets

    Flip them once they turn slightly golden from the bottom.
  6. Drain Excess Oil

    Once they turn golden on both sides, carefully remove them from the oil and place them in a sieve to remove the excess oil.
  7. Dust with Icing Sugar
