Oman-bound Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Nagpur

A SalamAir flight from Chittagong, Bangladesh, headed to Oman, had to make an emergency landing at Nagpur Airport following a medical emergency involving a passenger.

According to Aejaz Shami, General Manager (GM) Communication at KIIMS Kingsway Hospital, the incident involved a 33-year-old passenger named Mohammed Khair, who experienced two seizure episodes during the flight. The crew's quick response led to immediate medical intervention.

Seizure Mid-Flight Prompts Medical Action

Mid-flight, Khair suffered two seizures, with one of the episodes involving frothing at the mouth. The situation required the plane to divert to Nagpur for emergency medical assistance. Upon landing, a medical team from KIIMS Kingsway Hospital, led by Dr. Rupesh Bokade, was immediately dispatched to the aircraft.

Dr. Bokade reported that Khair was conscious, coherent, and orientated when examined. His vital signs were stable, but given the severity of the seizures, further medical attention was deemed necessary.
