The UAE has opened a new border crossing to Oman in Fujairah, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM). The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP) announced the launch on Wednesday, highlighting the crossing’s potential to improve trade and facilitate smoother travel between the two nations.
The new Wam border crossing is set to enhance connectivity, making the flow of goods and passengers more efficient. Major General Suhail Saeed al-Khaili, ICP Director-General, who oversaw the launch, described it as a "strategic step" toward bolstering cooperation between the UAE and the Sultanate of Oman.

For those planning a trip from the UAE to Oman, visa requirements vary by nationality. Citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries can travel to Oman without a visa, while visitors from certain other countries can obtain a visa upon arrival.
When entering Oman by road, travelers need a passport valid for at least six months beyond the visa issue date. Expats in the UAE also need a residency permit with at least three months of validity remaining.
